BROADCAST QUALITY BRAND KIT

All items have been donated by media, advertising and television professionals in Boston. They are a rights-free gift to America. They and the name Freedom Flicker have been intentionally left unregistered by our network of volunteers. No USPTO or Creative Commons licenses have been applied for. Nor will they be by us. Freedom Flicker is intended to enter life fully-formed as a brand that belongs to every American adult and child.

Brand elements include logos, motion graphics and music. They are available for use on tv, online and on all communications platforms as part of this non-commercial exercise in creative citizenship on Inauguration Day 2009. We have additional projects in mind, but let's see how this one goes.

Digital files may be downloaded for use by pros and amateurs. Versions have been created for high quality broadcast use on-air. Other versions have been created for use online.

It's 9AM January 20. Freedom Flicker is underway!

Freedom Flicker is a 100% pro and amateur volunteer effort. Born in Boston through scores of conversations in all sectors and across many silos.

This has become a one-day event that will culminate, we hope, in a beautiful light show tonight––people-powered "fireworks" across America tonight as millions of adults and children create twinkling neighborhoods, cities and towns simply by blinking their houselights, their camera flashes and their cell phone lights. For two minutes at 9pm local time (with rehearsal at 8).

Let's see how well viral + user-made + mainstream media mingle. Let's see if pro-am is an even better combination when no money is on the table.

Watch here this blog for updates the day. And if you're a reporter or media marketer, post a comment and let us know where we can reach you and how we can help you.

The goal is to have America's cities, towns and neighborhoods twinkling tonight with signs of freedom and neighborly spirit. Volunteerism in ways both big and small, organized and spontaneous.

If you would like to volunteer to field media calls and you have PR experience, please let us know below by leaving your contact info and a bit about your qualifications.

Ditto if you are someone who would like to speak with reporters and bloggers about why we need ways for individual people and children to play a role in civic activities, not just as viewers, but as participants.
